Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Taken from Sofitel Melbourne On Collins, looking out over Southbank and out to Port Phillip Bay. A longer exposure and an unsteady hand led to the blurring, but the resulting effect of the blocks of colour against the dark buildings and early evening sky is nice.

Dawn Departure
Flying out of Brisbane Airport in the early morning I had a nice view of the sun just starting to peak above the clouds. It was a nice way to forget, for a moment, that I had been up since 3am. I tried my best to take this photo with my phone camera, through the … Continue reading Dawn Departure
Cape Tourville
Cape Tourville, Coles Bay, Tasmania, Australia Cape Tourville lighthouse is an automated lighthouse constructed in 1971. It is 11m tall and sits 126m above sea level - a great vantage point for a photo of Freycinet National Park's rugged coastline. In the distance you can just make out part of the beach in Wineglass Bay. … Continue reading Cape Tourville

The area has a varied history, known by the Indigenous Arakwal people asĀ Cavvanbah, or 'the meeting place', it has also hosted timber, whaling, and primary production industries, as well as being a surfing and … Continue reading Clarkes Beach
kunanyi / Mount Wellington
kunanyi / Mount Wellington, Tasmania, Australia The view from kunanyi / Mount Wellington down to Hobart is impressive. With this photo I was struck by the barren rocky area in the foreground, down to the stark treeline and then Hobart beyond. My photography and editing skills haven't done it justice. And sitting atop the peak … Continue reading kunanyi / Mount Wellington
Busway Station
RBWH busway station, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia Late afternoon after a heavy shower, the view out the end of the station was like looking through a portal to a different world. The station was in the shadow of the hospital but the taller buildings in the CBD still had the sun reflecting off them and there … Continue reading Busway Station
Noosa Chocolate Factory
Noosa Chocolate Factory, Queensland, Australia I took this photo just to torment my wife, but I've since decided I quite like it as a photo. The contrasting shades of brown, the texture of the brownie, the focus - I'm a photography noob but it all appeals to me. And yes, the brownies are long gone.
Waikiki
Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii, United States of America A late afternoon view from the Sheraton Waikiki Leahi Club Lounge (30th floor of the Sheraton hotel). A quick Bing image search shows this is quite a popular spot to take a photo and I had some lucky timing with the 3 boats on the beach & the … Continue reading Waikiki
Coles Bay
Coles Bay, Tasmania, Australia is one of my favourite places. It's on Tasmania's East Coast, roughly half way between Launceston and Hobart and adjacent to Freycinet National Park - home to the picturesque Wine Glass Bay. There is an oyster farm in Coles Bay, as well as a number of farms, wineries, breweries & distilleries … Continue reading Coles Bay
