Coles Bay

Coles Bay, Tasmania, Australia is one of my favourite places. It’s on Tasmania’s East Coast, roughly half way between Launceston and Hobart and adjacent to Freycinet National Park – home to the picturesque Wine Glass Bay. There is an oyster farm in Coles Bay, as well as a number of farms, wineries, breweries & distilleries along the East coast, that supply fresh produce and beverages to the local restaurants.

I took this photo while staying at Saffire resort, where all the rooms have this amazing view out across Coles Bay to The Hazards mountain range in Freycinet National Park. On our first stay we were lucky enough to watch a storm roll across the mountains which was magical. I did set up a time-lapse earlier in the day but unfortunately ran out of battery before the storm arrived. You can see some of the build up below:
